tcod. oh boy. i had no idea you guys still had a forum going. anyway, brings back memories, just like yesterday, etc. okay, so back in 2007-2008, i remember i thought you were so cool and flippant and witty. you typed in all lowercase. clearly you did not care. i remember i was scandalized because you said you "hated surskit and skitty". anyway, yeah, a blast from the past. how much of tcod has a tumblr nowadays?

Yeah, the forum’s still going on bizarrely strong, though a lot of the old regulars just go on irc these days or have vanished entirely.  I’m not sure how many people have tumblrs offhand!  I think if you check who I, Tailsy (seblainers), and Shiva (shiva64) are all following, you could probably work out a bunch of them, though.

First is the cover for Brunch; it’s got art of the I and II main characters in one of the styles used in Card Stories.  Second is something from Alliance with Tir and Gremio; I don’t like the art but hey.  Third’s Gremio from Shinsho; fourth’s angsty Gremio from Shinsho; fifth is Gremio and Viktor from Shinsho; sixth is Tir and Gremio from Shinsho.  Seventh and eighth are Gremio images from Card Stories!  And I guess I’ll put shitty image quality Card Stories scans I grabbed off http://www.legacyofsuikoden.com in a separate post.  I actually grabbed a bunch of these off there, haha.

Therefore Luc should get a massive dorky tattoo on his face.  Either that, or a bunch of piercings.  He’s got wind magic, so he can be one of the only people in the world with an uninfected eyebrow piercing.

I’m picturing this and now I can’t unsee it.

Does it really matter? XD;  If Luc was trying to destroy his rune at the cost of the safety of others, it doesn’t make sense that he’d write up the stars on a piece of rock for the same people trying to stop him. 

Of course it doesn’t!  That’s why I’m asking.

Hey, he still managed to be their tenkan even though he was trying to kill them at the time.  I’m not gonna assume anything to do with the tablet in III makes external sense.

I think the other one was intended for Suikoden I and II since Luc did stand in front of the tablet.  Suikoden III, he was all busy running around being badass and emo. :D

Well, yeah.  But if the tablet didn’t carve itself, then … who did it for Thomas’s bums?  Leknaat?  Zerase?  … Luc cheating with Shredding in between important plot shit and angst sessions?  OR IS IT ACTUALLY MAGIC (I bet it’s totally magic and Leknaat just refrained from telling Luc it’s actually capable of doing it itself, because he needs to exercise his skill stat.)

ETA: Though I suppose Luc could’ve carved the III one in his copious free time using the goddamn laser ring to burn it away.  It’d’ve made the laser ring actually useful for something.

I feel like Tir should always perform a dance number when asked.  It is his duty as a tenkai.  Even if he’s bad at it.  Especially if he’s bad at it.  Maybe Riou can give him dancing lessons. Temporary closing of the ASK box

Uwah… I really didn’t think people would like the idea of this.  It’s been just around two days.  It’s actually very overwhelming AND really nice to know that there are so many Suikoden fans still out there. And the questions sometimes? You guys are amaaaaaaazing.

Unfortunately, the number of questions are getting big and I feel bad that I’m not working fast enough to cover them.  So for a very short while, I will close the ask option for a few days, so I can get the number down to 10 or lower. :>  Once I do that, I’ll open the ask box again and get more questions.  So while the blog isn’t accepting them, save some good ones up for later!

… But Luc sucks in I.  Did people actually use him?  I mean, he’s memorable, and he’s amazing in II, but he’s really shitty in I.

IDK, he’s definitely stronger in S2 but he was still a solid party member for me in S1.  The wind rune was good and I gave him a Cyclone rune just as soon as I could and he was tearing the place apart.

His only stat that didn’t suck was magic :(  (And his Skill’s redeemable, not that you would ever see that used.)  Tengaar has better everything than him.  Mind you, Tengaar’s annoying, but at least she’s not shitty.  Luc can reach level 99 without ever having gotten Luck to increase while leveling 8|  And, er, I would like items to drop sometime this century.

If I need a mage, I usually go for someone like Cleo or Lotte or Flik (or Alen, Grenseal, or Milich; I’m more amused by having Milich and Gremio in my endgame party than I should be).  :/  Their magic’s not QUITE as high as Luc’s but at least they can do something outside of boss battles.

Wait, there are people who don’t like Cleo?  What’s wrong with them?

Okay, dude, I guess I got more use out of Luc than you did.  I tend to pick characters that I like when I chose my party, and I liked Luc, so he got more time on the field.  Whatever.

Sorry!  Didn’t mean to piss you off.  I completely understand using characters you like; I’ve just never had the patience for Luc in suikoI.  … Or any of the short-ranged mages, really, but Luc’s the one I’ve actually tried using and gave up on in short order.
